Oppo one of the leading
smartphone sellers in India known for its selfie cameras is reportedly developing
a new hybrid optical zoom technology that would give smartphones the capability
to capture photos with up to 10x zoom.
It is expected to be launched in
company’s next flagships i.e. Oppo F19 and F19 Pro. Earlier it was also
reported that Huawei is also developing such technology for its rumored P30 pro
smartphone. These will not be the first phones manufacturers to claim the title
of being first to use 10x zoom in the smartphones as the crown is with Galaxy K
Zoom which was launched in 2014.

According to a tweet by a
prominent tipster Ice Universe it is expected that Oppo can showcase this
technology at CES or MWC next year.
The specifications of this
technology is not clearly evident but according to leaks published on Slash
Leaks we can see a batch of patent drawings which indicate the upcoming
technology will be similar to the 5x lossless zoom technology used by the company
in 2017.
