Reliance Jio the name that changed the telecom industry
when it launched on 5th September 2016. It came with an offer of
free internet and calls. Who doesn’t like free. Right? People switched to Jio
like anything and which in turn forced others players to give a thought to
their working model and resulted in slashed prices. Initially Jio used to work only
with LYF mobile devices so without having any second thoughts people shifted to
Jio. Then Jio started targeting feature phone users especially in rural areas
and launched 4G feature phones.
But now Reliance Jio Infocomm have started working with partners
to bring affordable large screen smartphones to the people who cannot afford the
expensive one or who have not yet switched to 4G or who have not yet started
using internet.
According to Sunil Dutt head sales, channel development
at Reliance Jio said that they are trying to work with potential partners who
can develop an affordable large screen smartphone and for the masses who have
not yet shifted to 4G smartphones so they could experience right kind of
connectivity as well as content.
He also stated that Reliance Jio is staunch that they should
come out with something new every few months. As we know Jio has been already
working with top smartphone manufacturers like Apple Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo and
bringing out offers for the masses.
